Jumbo Snicker Cookies…

So what did everyone get up to over the weekend???, well first things first the weather has gone terrible (flurries of snow, bucket loads of rain and gale force winds) compared to how sunny it was at the beginning of the month, so weather wise the weather has been a total let down to do any out door activities. So  being the crazy cook I am, I decided to do a spot of baking………..to cheer up everyone’s spirits and here is what i came up with:Picture

So I got baking and came up with a fantabulous new recipe , a simple twist on the original plain cookies which I have proudly named Jumbo Sized Snicker Cookies………..they’re called this simply because they use a bar of everyone’s favorite nutty chocolate SNICKERS!!! and the biscuits are big in size. Like I said a fantabulous recipe my family were cursing me for making only 14 biscuits and not any more………..oyes so to avoid being in my position make TWO batches.

The Recipe follows:

Ingredients:

  • 100 grams of butter
  • 3 tbs of sugar
  • 1 tbs of Golden syrup
  • 6 tbs of self raising flour
  • 1 tbs of peanut butter (optional)
  • 1 average size snicker bar ( chopped up)

Method:

  1. Pre-heat your oven to 180 degree Celsius gas mark 4.
  2. Cream together the butter and sugar until pale and fluffy.
  3. Add your sugar,golden syrup,peanut butter and chopped snicker bar and mix in well.
  4. Add three spoons of self raising flour into your cookie mix and mix in.
  5. Add the remaining spoon of self raising flour and mix together with your hands combine and incorporate the mixture to form a dough.
  6. Once you’ve made the dough with your hands make little balls (you should get 14 equal sized golf shaped balls) and place on a greased baking tray and flatten them out with your fingers. Remember to leave spaces in between for when they expand and cook in the oven.
  7. Prick the cookies and place them in the pre-heated oven, bake for about 15 minute or until they have gone golden yellow in color.
  8. Leave to cool on a wiring rack.
